A new early childhood education center will be opening its first location in Fort Smith in October.
According to a news release, The Goddard School will be nearly 10,000 square feet and have 9 classrooms to educate more than 150 children from infants to pre-kindergarteners.

The Arkansas Court of Appeals has unanimously ruled in favor of the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority (FCRA) on claims that the Redevelopment Authority misrepresented the future development of the Chaffee Crossing Historic Area. The Court of Appeals’ decision is the third court victory for the FCRA in four years regarding the Historic District.

Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority announces it has commissioned Fort Smith-muralist Bryan Alexis to create a mural in the Chaffee Crossing Historic and Entertainment District. The mural will be named “Impact Area” to identify with the thousands of soldiers, refugees, evacuees, and civilian workers whose life paths brought them to Fort Chaffee, formerly Camp Chaffee, a World War II-era U.S. Army training camp established in 1941-1942. The installation will be located at 7301 Fort Chaffee Blvd., Fort Smith, Arkansas.
